MISSION STATEMENT
- Rescare New Zealand Incorporated is dedicated to bringing about legislative and policy changes that ensure people with an intellectual disability have choice in the services they can access and that these services are adequately funded and meet the individual’s needs and those of their family.
- Rescare New Zealand Incorporated is dedicated to developing a comprehensive service that provides support and information about choice for parents and caregivers and empowers them to negotiate for the choices that best suit the relative or person they want to support. To maintain the ability to perform this advocacy Rescare New Zealand will stay independent of ANY provider of service so that it may advocate and be seen to advocate fairly and without any conflict of interest.

OBJECTS
- To be an umbrella group for Support Groups and individuals who support people with an intellectual disability.
- To be the vehicle through which these Support Groups and individuals can advocate and lobby the appropriate people on National Issues.
- To be the information centre for the support groups and individuals endeavouring to help them all to grow stronger
- To be the Support Groups’ Voice on the Consumer Consortium

GOALS
- To promote the welfare and quality of life of people with an intellectual disability.
- To work to secure for people with an intellectual disability the type of residential care that will provide an acceptable environment, with adequate facilities, appropriate to their needs and abilities.
- To mobilise and encourage the interest of the public over issues regarding the needs of people with an intellectual disability.
- To promote and encourage other groups within New Zealand who share the same interests in furthering the welfare and quality of life of people with an intellectual disability.
